‘Drunk’ crew dock ship in wrong port

Danny B. Dangcalan - The Philippine Star

BACOLOD CITY , Philippines– Twenty-four passengers of an Iloilo-bound roll-on, roll-off vessel found themselves unable to spend New Year’s Day with their families, as the crew docked the vessel in the wrong port – in Pulupandan, Negros Occidental.

And the captain and crew of LCT Archangels Navistar are now in hot water, as they were allegedly drunk while on duty.

According to Bombo Radyo Bacolod, the crewmen went into hiding when the passengers got mad after discovering they were in the wrong port.

Coast Guard officials said the ship’s captain, Lodovico Ursia, and his crew could be terminated and lose their licenses if proven to be drunk while on duty.
