Truck falls off cliff; 8 injured

BUTUAN CITY, Philippines – At least eight people were seriously injured when the cargo truck they were riding lost control and plunged into a ravine along the national highway in Carmen, Agusan del Norte on New Year’s Day, a belated police report said.

Those injured, including truck driver Saturnino Mondanao, 42, were rushed to the Nasipit Emergency Hospital.

Police said the truck rammed the road’s steel railings before it fell into the ravine.
