Manila fire destroys P500K worth of goods
MANILA, Philippines - A fire broke out on Wednesday inside a building in Manila during the height of the celebration of New Year's Day, destroying P500,000 worth of properties.
No one was hurt during the blaze inside the unit, owned by a certain John Tan, at the R-Square building on R. Roman St., Binondo, Manila.
Quoting a Manila fire department official, radio reports said the blaze started around 12:12 a.m. and spread to the third and fourth floors of building.
One of the units contained several plastic mannequins and ready-to-wear clothes, reports said.
Firefighters put out the flames around 2 am, reports added.
Arson investigators are still looking into the cause of the fire.
