Parañaque warehouse fire contained after 17 hours

MANILA, Philippines - The fire that struck a warehouse and two adjacent buildings in Barangay Sto. Nino in Parañaque City early Monday was placed under control after almost 17 hours.

According to the Parañaque City Central Fire Station, responding firefighters managed to place the fire under control at 3:46 p.m.

Parañaque Fore said the fire struck the warehouse of Maldive Trading Corporation at about 1:10 a.m.

The fire alarm level was then raised to Task Force Bravo at 6:40 a.m. after the blaze spread to the adjacent buildings of Ceva Logistics and KLG.

Aiding the Parañaque Fire Department were firefighters from the cities of Valenzuela and Mandaluyong.

No one was reported hurt or killed in the fire, the Parañaque Fire Department said. 

Arson investigators are still determining what caused the fire.
