NORTH COTABATO, Philippines --- A Moro farmer killed his wife using a machete and wounded their two daughters in a hacking frenzy Wednesday dawn in a farming district in Pigcawayan town in the province
Chief Inspector Donald Cabigas told reporters the suspect, Teng Islah, is now detained at the municipal police detention facility, to be charged with corresponding criminal charges on Friday.
Cabigas, chief of the Pigcawayan police, said Islah, who seemed under the influence of drugs, refused to talk to investigators.
Cabigas said neighbours have confirmed that Islah hacked his wife, Bainot, dead, and seriously wounded their daughters, both minors, last Wednesday dawn.
Cabigas said the victims were asleep in their farmhouse in Barangay Simsiman in the northeast of Pigcawayan when they were attacked.
Islah was restive and annoyingly irrational days before the incident, according to neighbours.
