Ben Serrano - The Philippine Star

TANDAG CITY , Philippines  â€“ Suspected New People’s Army (NPA) guerrillas kidnapped a man who reportedly found gold bars in Tagana-an town in Surigao del Norte on Friday.

Guillermo Dumalag, 37, was reportedly snatched from his home in Barangay Aurora at about 11:30 p.m., according to the Surigao del Norte provincial police office.

The five armed men blindfolded Dumalag and dragged him to a pick-up truck.

The armed men reportedly introduced themselves as NPA rebels and demanded a share from Dumalag’s treasure.

Dumalag denied he had found any treasure.

The men abandoned Dumalag in Barangay Cabugao in Bacuag town.
