2 held, 14 cars seized in Bulacan raid

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga , Philippines   â€“ Two suspected members of a car theft syndicate were arrested and 14 vehicles and two long firearms were seized during a police raid on a residential compound in Baliuag, Bulacan last Saturday.

Chief Superintendent Raul Petrasanta, Region 3 police director, said the raid led to the arrest of Mark Joseph Reyes, 19, and Jasmine Reyes, 37, whose husband, Mark Lester, is said to be the ring’s leader. Another at-large suspect is Veronica Reyes, Mark Lester’s mother.

Petrasanta said joint elements of the Bulacan Police Public Safety Company and Highway Patrol Unit-Region 3 seized a Toyota Land Cruiser, a Ford Everest, a Honda Jazz, two Honda Civic Hatchbacks, a Honda City, a Nissan Frontier pick-up, a Mitsubishi Exceed van, a Mitsubishi L-300 van, a Kawasaki Barako motorcycle with sidecar, and a Ssangyong Musso car, among others.
