MANILA, Philippines - A mother died and her two young children were injured in a fire in Quezon City before dawn Saturday.
The fatality was identified as Virgie Lascoña. Her daughter Babylyn, 10 and son Daniel, 8, suffered burn wounds.
Arson investigators said the victim was trapped in their burning home in Sitio Militar Ibaba. The fire broke out at around 2 a.m.
Authorities suspect that the fire started from a lit candle because the area had no electricity when the blaze happened.
