ARMM Gov. Mujiv Hataman said the project is part of the regional government's effort to bring out the best of each of the province under the Muslim region beside's improving the region's economic development.

The ARMM’s Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) will implement the project that includes the establishment of a 90-hectare fish sanctuary, mangrove reforestation, and provision of 150 units of non-motorized banca and fishing paraphernalia.

Hataman said improving the resources would also mean the protection of the marine ecosystem and its resources from overpoaching

ARMM-BFAR director Janice Musali said the program will also improve the plight of the villagers, where fishing remains as their primary means of livelihood, as the program will improve the fisherfolks' catch.
