Pa jumps to death after throwing 2 sons into river
LINGAYEN, Pangasinan, Philippines – A man said to be having marital problems reportedly threw his two sons into a river before jumping to his death on Sunday in Barangay Poblacion here.
The bodies of Efren Sison, 43, and his sons – Dave, 9, and Dranreb, 12 – of Barangay Maniboc in this town, were recovered hours later from the Agno River by members of the Philippine Coast Guard’s Water Search and Rescue.
Police Officer 2 Wilfredo Dulay told The STAR that prior to the incident, Sison took his sons for a ride on his motorcycle.
While driving, Sison reportedly tried to ram his motorcycle into an approaching van, which managed to avoid them.
However, another motorcycle driven by Florante Castro collided with the Sisons. Castro suffered injuries from the incident and was brought to the Lingayen Community Hospital for treatment.
Sison, with his sons in tow, reportedly walked to the Baay Bridge in Barangay Poblacion and threw the boys into the river before jumping himself.
