'Yolanda' makes 3rd landfall over Cebu; another landfall expected

MANILA, Philippines - Super Typhoon "Yolanda" on Friday morning made a third landfall over the northern tip of Cebu province, the state weather bureau PAGASA said.

PAGASA reported that the super typhoon slammed into land for the third time over Daanbantayan town in Cebu at around 9:40 a.m.

The weather disturbance, considered the world's strongest this year, initially made landfall in Guiuan, Samar. Three hours later, the super typhoon hit land over Tolosa town in Leyte.

PAGASA said the superhowler is expected a fourth landfall over Negros Occidental.

The weather bureau also issued a red rainfall warning at 10 a.m. for the northern portion of Negros Occidental and Negros Oriental, where serious flooding is expected.

Meanwhile, moderate to heavy rains are affecting portions of Surigao De lNorte, Surigao Del Sur, Agusan Del Norte, Misamis Oriental, Camiguin, Lanao Del Norte, Misamis Occidental, Maguindanao, Sultan Kudarat and Zamboanga Del Norte, which may continue for the next two to three hours.

Light to moderate rains are affecting Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga City, Lanao del Sur, Bukidnon, Agusan del Sur, Sulu, Basilan and Tawi-Tawi, which may also persist for the next two to three hours.
