MANILA, Philippines - Thousands of passengers in various ports in Visayas have been stranded due to Tropical Depression Wilma, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said on Monday afternoon.
PCG spokesperson Commander Armand Balilo said more than 4,000 passengers were stranded in ports of Cebu, Bohol and Southern Negros as rough waters prevented sea vessels from going to their destinations.
As of 1 p.m. today, the PCG has suspend the travel of 25 vessels bound for Cebu, Bohol and Negros due to tropical cyclone.
Balilo said some 352 passengers also failed to leave the port at the Manila North Harbor due to the inclement weather.
"The PCG advises the public to monitor weather condition in these areas to avoid inconvenience in sea travel," Balilo said.
