Grenade found inside LTFRB comfort room

MANILA, Philippines - A hand grenade was found inside the comfort room of the main building of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board in Quezon City on Monday.

LTFRB public information office chief Sonia del Mundo-Untalan said the grenade, reportedly wrapped with a T-shirt,  was discovered by one of the janitors around 9:30 a.m. inside one of  men's CR at third floor of the building.
 
The rest room was near the office of LTFRB chairman Winston Ginez, Untalan said.
 
Untalan said the Quezon City police and bomb squad members arrived at the scene but without a K-9 bomb sniffing dog.
 
After an hour, Untalan said authorities allowed the employees who left their respective offices to return inside the building.
 
"Pinababalik kami pero ang sabi ay pamilyar daw kami sa mga lugar at working station namin kaya kung may nakitang suspicious object ay i-report agad. Di ba dapat i clear muna nila mga lugar dun at baka may iba pang granada dun?" Untalan said in frustration.
 
While other employees went back to their offices, Untalan said some personnel, including her, have opted to stay out of the building until authorities are 100 percent sure that there are no more explosive devices found in the compound.
