Cagayan vice mayor loses P.3 M to thieves
BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya , Philippines – A vice mayor of a town in Cagayan lost her money and valuables to snatchers in Tuguegarao City over the weekend.
Reports said Sta. Ana Vice Mayor Genevie Rodriguez, 45, was waiting for a ride to a bus terminal in the city when two motorcycle-riding men grabbed her bag last Friday.
The victim’s bag reportedly contained two mobile phones worth P70,000; a diamond ring worth P200,000 and cash.
Police said Rodriguez had just come from a bank when the robbery occurred.
Authorities launched a manhunt for the snatchers who were identified by the victim through the city police’s rogues’ gallery.
