MANILA, Philippines - A lady cop was found dead inside the Philippine National Police (PNP) Crime Laboratory's building inside Camp Crame in Quezon City on Thursday morning.

The bloodied body of Police Inspector Romelou Medina, 35, was found by her fellow policemen at around 7:30 a.m.

Medina was still wearing her police uniform and she had a gunshot wound in the temple.

Crime scene investigators recovered the policewoman's 9mm service pistol and an empty shell believed to be from Medina's gun.

Senior Superintendent Wilben Mayor, spokesperson of PNP chief Director General Alan Purisima, said Medina used to work for the PNP-Crime Lab's finance section.

She was on on-the-job training at the Manila Police District's Crime Laboratory.

Police have yet to determine if Medina committed suicide.
