CamSur vice mayor caught in shabu session at Albay resort

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Thursday announced the arrest of a town vice mayor in Camarines Sur province after being allegedly caught taking shabu at a resort in Naga City.

PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. identified the suspect as Milaor town Vice Mayor Andre Hidalgo, 60.

Cacdac said Hidalgo was caught in the middle of a shabu session during the PDEA's raid at a tourist inn in Barangay Balatas in Naga City at around 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

Seized during the raid were plastic sachets containing shabu and several drug paraphernalia.

Cacdac said Hidalco is now detained at the Camarines Sur Provincial Office.

He said charges for drug use will be filed against the vice mayor once he tests positive for drugs.
