Bus driver nabbed over drugs in Sorsogon

MANILA, Philippines -  A bus driver who has been moonlighting as a drug dealer was arrested by anti-narcotics agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency during  buy-bust operation in Sorsogon City, the PDEA said on Wednesday.

PDEA director general Arturo  Cacdac Jr. identified the suspect as Vincent Espadero, 34, of St. Anthony Subdivision, Barangay Cogon, Gubat, Sorsogon.

Cacdac said Espader is in the watch list of drug personalities of PDEA Regional Office 5.

Records showed that last Oct. 21, around 7:45 a.m., elements of PDEA RO 5 conducted a buy-bust operation at the vicinity of Roxas Street, Barangay Luna Candol, Gubat Sorsogon City which resulted in the arrest of Espadero.

Agents seized a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu and one P500 bill used as buy-bust money.

The suspect is now detained at the Gubat Municipal Police Station, while the seized drug evidence was submitted to the PNP Crime Laboratory for qualitative examination.
