MANILA, Philippines - Former Antipolo City mayor Danilo Leyble has expressed gratitude to the Department of Justice (DOJ) for dismissing the murder complaint filed against him and six others in connection with the killing of the alleged gunman in the failed slay attempt on Antipolo City Mayor Casimiro Jun Ynares III and his father, former Rizal governor Casimiro Ynares.
In a seven-page resolution signed by associate prosecutor Edgar Mamia, Leyble was cleared of the charges along with Alfredo Cunanan Garcia, Danilo Aquino, Ricky Reyes, Tintin Garcia, former vice mayor Ronaldo Leyva, and lawyer Andrei Zapanta.
Complainant Dorina Laroco alleged that the respondents connived in killing her husband, Rolando, whose body was found with 14 gunshot wounds in Barangay San Isidro, Antipolo City last Aug. 26.
But the DOJ said Mrs. Laroco failed to present solid evidence against the respondents.
