CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna , Philippines   â€“ A man was killed while 15 others were injured in a collision involving three vehicles in Sto. Tomas, Batangas before dawn yesterday.

Leopoldo Cabanilla, 38, of Sitio Buhangin Asin, Laurel town, died on the spot after the motorcycle he was driving slammed into a passenger jeepney along the Maharlika highway.

Jeepney driver Oliver del Mundo, 43, and his 14 passengers were rushed to the hospital for treatment of injuries after a passenger bus collided with their jeepney.

Prior to the incident, an ALPS bus reportedly tried to overtake another vehicle, causing it to slam into Del Mundo’s vehicle at about 5 a.m. The collision caused Cabanilla to lose control of his motorcycle and crash into the jeepney.

The bus driver and the conductor, whose names were not immediately available, fled after the incident.
