Produce missing activist, police urged

Charlie Lagasca - The Philippine Star

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines – Militant groups have asked the Philippine National Police to produce an anti-mining activist who, they alleged, was last seen being accosted and dragged into a police patrol car here nearly two months ago.

In a caravan here last Thursday, the militant group Karapatan called on authorities to produce Brian Epa, who has been missing since Aug. 21 when six policemen allegedly picked him up along Dumlao Boulevard in Barangay Salvacion here.

The placard-bearing activists, who came from various parts of the region and Central Luzon, converged in this capital town to hold a series of dialogues with authorities on Epa’s disappearance.
