Agri supplier signs deal with China firm
MANILA, Philippines - Calata Corp., one of the agri-conglomerates in the country, continues to give hope to farmers.
This, as Joseph Calata, chairman and chief executive officer of Calata Corp., reported that they have entered into an agreement with the New Hope Group (NHG) of China to launch a new brand of animal feeds in the country.
The NHG is one of the biggest producers of feeds in China with a capacity to produce 26.6 million tons of animal feeds.
It is also one of the biggest suppliers of meat, eggs and dairy products in China, with earnings of $8.8 billion annually.
The NHG began expanding outside China in 1996, and it has its own facilities in the country.
Calata Corp., based in Plaridel, Bulacan, started as a simple family business, but it is now recognized as a leading distributor of agro-chemicals, fertilizers, seeds, and veterinary medicine
