Suspect in Taguig grenade blast nabbed
MANILA, Philippines - Taguig Police on Thursday arrested one suspect in the grenade-throwing incident last Wednesday in the city’s Barangay North Signal, which left five persons injured, including a 10-year old boy.
Taguig Police identified the arrested suspect as Lester Daga, 31, janitor, of 455A 4rth St. Barangay Katuparan, Taguig City.
Daga, police said, was identified by a witness as one of two men who were seen fleeing the scene shortly after the grenade exploded in front of a house along 10th Avenue.
Rushed to the Taguig-Pateros District Hospital for shrapnel wounds were Jonathan Meday, 21; Bert Malonzo; William Flores; Ricardo Ampil, 10; and Ruben Orate.
Police said the victims were standing in front of a house on 10th Avenue at past 10 p.m. when the two persons appeared and hurled the grenade.
Investigators said a brawl that occurred on Wednesday morning may have been the reason for the attack.
