MANILA, Philippines - Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested in a buy-bust operation in Cavite a Nigerian college student believed to be a member of the African Drug Syndicate, the agency announced Friday.
PDEA chief Arturo Cacdac Jr. identified the suspect as Kingsley Ezeobi, 24, a highly targeted drug personality, of 376 Barangay Sampaloc 1, Palapala, Dasmariñas City, Cavite.
Cacdac said Ezeobi is a drug pusher and runner, and a member of the African Drug Syndicate.
PDEA operatives arrested the Nigerian student in a buy-bust operation at Barangay Moderan, General Mariano Alvarez, Cavite, last October 8.
The agents seized from the suspect 20 grams of white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu contained in two pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets.
Drug raps are now being readied for filing in court against the suspect.
Meanwhile, Cacdac also reported the arrest of suspected pusher Arnel Uypico, 42, during a buy-bust operation at his residents in Barangay Kalehan, San Pablo City, Laguna last October 9.
Seized during the operation were 25 grams of shabu with an estimated market value of P375,000.
On the same day at around 7:30 p.m., operatives conducted a buy-bust operation at Purok 1, Barangay Lodlod, Lipa City which resulted in the arrest of a tricycle driver identified as John Allien Ombawa, 27.
Operatives recovered from Ombawa’s possession a Black Widow .22 revolver and a gram of suspected shabu.
