MANILA, Philippines - The death toll in landslides in Zambales province due to incessant heavy downpour rose to 25.
This after rescuers recovered three more bodies in Brgy. Cawag in Subic municipality Monday afternoon.
Subic Mayor Jefferson Khonghun said the total of bodies recovered from the villages of Cawag, Wawandue and San Isidro is now at 15.
He said they are still looking for at least four more persons in the landslides.
Subic town is now under the state of calamity due to heavy flooding which rendered major roads impassable.
Meanwhile, reports said that five members of a household in a resettlement area in Castillejos town in Zambales were buried by the landslide Monday.
Earlier, reports said the four deaths were recorded by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Mangement Council at Brgy. Aglao in San Marcelino town, also in Zambales.
