Trader dies in Batangas outing

BATANGAS , Philippines   â€“ A young businessman died while a companion went missing during an outing with some European friends at a beach in Nasugbu town this province last Saturday afternoon, police said.

Despite his friends’ warning, the victim, Jesus Cabarrus, 27, jumped off a 15-foot cliff and hit the rocks due to the strong waves. He did not reach the hospital alive.

Family driver Carlou Ballenas, 34, and another friend, Karim Elkhoury, 27, came to Cabarrus’ rescue.

Ballenas went missing and authorities have yet to find him. Elkhoury suffered minor scratches and was brought to the Nasugbu Doctors Hospital.
