Rehabilitation of Bataan terminal complex starts
BALANGA CITY, Bataan, Philippines – The province’s top officials, along with 11 municipal and one city mayors led the groundbreaking for the repair and rehabilitation of the Bataan terminal complex the other day.
The rehabilitation of the P320-million transport terminal in Barangay Ibayo in this city is expected to bring convenience to the people and lure investors, Gov. Albert Raymond Garcia told The STAR.
Garcia said the complex is the fruit of a public-private partnership initiated by Rep. Enrique Garcia Jr. during his nine years stint as provincial governor.
City Mayor Jose Enrique Garcia lll said the LKY Group would finance the construction of the building which includes a convention center with a seating capacity of 5,000, offices for business outsourcing, commercial shops, restaurants and other business establishments.
Garcia said the terminal complex is an alternative venue for the regional, national and international meetings, conferences and multi-purpose exhibition events in Central Luzon.
He said the project would boost the local tourism industry, create jobs and attract investments for unexplored business entities.
