5 suspected drug pushers, fake cop nabbed in Taguig

MANILA, Philippines - Elements of the Taguig City Police on Thursday arrested five suspected dealers of shabu during a buy-bust operation in in Maharlika Village in Taguig City.

City police chief Senior Superintendent Arthur Felix Asis identified those arrested as Bai Intan Myra Lumumba, Richard Anabeza, Muslimin Kendato, Roelito Jo and Saudi Amin.

Asis said the five suspects were nabbed as they were selling three plastic sachets of suspected shabu to an undercover police officer.

Also seized from the suspects were a 12-gauge shotgun and 20 live shotgun shells.

The suspect will be facing charges of drug possession and trafficking, Asis said.

Meanwhile, Taguig policemen arrested on Wednesday night three suspected robbers, including one who was wearing a police uniform.

Police identified the three suspects as Antonio Butuan, 21, of Purok 2 Magsaysay St., Lower Bicutan; Leo Fegueras, 35, of Purok 10 PNR Site, Western Bicutan; and Richmond Abella, 26, of 4 Cabuyao St., Western Bicutan.

Police said the three were nabbed by a police patrol along Camachili Street in Barangay Katuparan at about 4 am while aboard a motorcycle without license plates.

Police said Fegueras was wearing a police athletic t-shirt and a police ball cap when they were stopped by police.

When frisked, police found a 9mm pistol, a police badge a grenade and two knives.

The suspects are now facing charges of illegal possesion of firerams and explosives and usurpation of authority.
