LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines – The Bicol director of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) was found dead off Barangay Puro here last Tuesday afternoon.
Superintendent Robert Morico, Legazpi police chief, said Fire Senior Superintendent Leonardo Prades, 55, was found lifeless still wearing his snorkeling goggles, some 200 meters away from the shoreline, by Philippine Coast Guard men who were then jogging along Legazpi Boulevard.
Quoting a report from scene of the crime operatives, Morico said Prades’ body did not bear any sign of struggle or foul play, adding that he could have drowned.
Fire Inspector Maria Cemitara, BFP-Bicol spokesperson, said doctors who conducted an autopsy on Prades’ body, said he suffered from acute myocardial infarction or cardiac arrest. – Cet Dematera, Celso Amo, Francis Elevado
