Jennifer P. Rendon - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A policeman surrendered after he reportedly killed a lawyer yesterday in Hamtic town in Antique.

Police Officer 2 Jose Suarez of the Hamtic police station surrendered to Superintendent Jose Roy Torechilla of the Antique Public Safety Company, two hours after he shot dead lawyer John Mark Espera in Barangay Pu-ao.

Reports said Espera and his companion Romeo Gasalao were reportedly challenged by Suarez’ brother Bimboy to a fistfight.

Suarez said he saw his brother and Espera grappling for the possession of a gun, which the lawyer reportedly owned, prompting him to shoot the victim.
