Votes sought for Samar eco-tourism destination

CATBALOGAN CITY, Philippines – The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in Region 8 is urging everyone to vote for Northern Samar’s Biri Rock Formation as one of the top 10 emerging eco-tourism destinations in the country.

To date, Biri Rock Formation ranks sixth among 25 sites nominated by Isla Lipana Inc. to the search for the top 10 Philippine Gems.

“We should be proud and vote for Biri because this is our very own,” said DENR regional executive director Manolito Ragub.

To vote for Biri, go to this link http://www.philippinegems.com/voting/.

The Biri Rock Formation is part of the 33,492-hectare Biri Larosa Protected Landscape and Seascape that straddles the Northern Samar towns of Biri, Lavesarez, Rosario and San Jose.
