All pumping stations working - Taguig mayor

MANILA, Philippines - Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano on Wednesday assured city residents that the city’s three flood pumping stations in the villages are working and operational.

“We would like to state that all of the pumping stations are working in Taguig. Do not believe reports that the pumping stations are now working,” said Cayetano in a statement.

As of Wednesday, the Taguig City government had evacuated 3,048 families or about 13,242 individuals from 19 flooded barangays.

“The Taguig City government is still on alert for any emergency situation,” Cayetano added.

As of 1 p.m., the following streets in Taguig barangays remain flooded:

Bagumbayan (Laura Drive)
New Lower Bicutan (Roldan St.)
Sta. Ana (Pulong Kendi/Riverside)
San Miguel (St. Michael, Victoria and Deva)
Napindan (Samama)
Wawa (Riverside)
