Lawyer nabbed for bribe try in drug case

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – Police arrested a lawyer for allegedly bribing a Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) team leader with P50,000 in exchange for the dropping of drug pushing charges against his client.
PDEA Region 4-A director Jeffrey Bangsa said lawyer Melecio Torres Jr., 60, introduced himself as the legal counsel of one Ernesto Evangelista who was nabbed in a drug buy-bust.
The STAR tried to get Torres’ side but failed.
