MANILA, Philippines - Weather in Metro Manila and across the country may improve in the next days as Tropical Storm "Maring," which is enhancing the southwest monsoon, is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Thursday.
In a televised press briefing before Tuesday noon, state weather bureau PAGASA said Metro Manila will have gradually improving weather by Wednesday morning while rains are expected in the Ilocos area on Thursday.
By Friday, improved weather across the country is expected, the agency said.
In its 11 a.m. update, PAGASA said Maring was spotted at 595 kilometers northeast of Itbayat, Batanes, packing maximum winds of 95 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 120 kph.
It is forecast to move north at 19 kph and is expected to be at 460 km of northeast of Itbayat, Batanes by Wednesday morning.
Maring is projected to be 560 km of of the said area our outside of PAR by Thursday morning.
PAGASA said Maring will continue to enhance the southwest monsoon, which has been dumping moderate to heavy rains over Luzon.
