KIDAPAWAN City, Philippines - Police and military intelligence operatives are closely monitoring a hotel and a residential home in the city allegedly owned by the daughter of Janet Napolis-Lim, the alleged mastermind of the multi-billion pork barrel scam.
Key sources from the Office of the Mayor of Kidapawan City, Joseph Evangelista, said they are documents that prove Jo Christine Napoles owns the Mt. Apo Inn at the corner of Bryant and Bautista streets.
One of the sources said that Jo Christine also owns a residential home in the city.
“We have documents at the city’s licensing office and treasury indicating that the daughter of Mrs. Napoles owns that hotel and a residential house in the same address,†the source, who asked not to be identified, told reporters.
The Mt. Apo Inn has been operating in Kidapawan City for about five years now, according to a senior staff at the mayor’s office.
Police and military intelligence officials said that they are now closely monitoring the hotel and the house.
The Makati City Regional Trial Court issued warrants for the arrest of Napoles and her brother, Reynald "Jojo" Lim, for the illegal detention charge filed by pork scam whistleblower Benhur Luy.
Napoles, through lawyer Lorna Kapunan, asked the Court of Appeals to dismiss the warrant of arrest.
