Ilocos Norte town mayor wanted for attempted rape missing

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines - Authorities have failed to locate an Ilocos Norte town mayor wanted for attempted rape.

Adams town mayor Dr. Eric Bawingan, now being hunted by authorities after a court issued an arrest order  for allegedly attempting to rape his employee inside a rented house of the local government unit in Laoag City before the May 2013 polls, has apparently left his hometown.

Inspector Clemente Ceralde of the Adams town police said they have been trying to serve the arrest warrant since last week but failed to locate Bawingan.

No one could say where the twon mayor is , said Ceralde.

The court has recommended a P120,000-bail for the mayor.
