Ilocos vice mayor accused of gun-toting

Teddy Molina - The Philippine Star

LAOAG CITY, Philippines – The vice mayor of Bacarra town in Ilocos Norte is facing investigation for allegedly poking a gun on a barangay councilman, police said yesterday.

Authorities said Vice Mayor Jonathan Ramit allegedly harassed and poked a gun at Florendo Padilla, of Barangay 11.

Ramit has denied the accusations, saying Padilla fabricated the charges to destroy him. He said his lawyer would file charges against his accuser.

Sources said the Ilocos Norte police office was ordered to investigate the allegation.
