7 hurt as jeep falls off cliff
CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna , Philippines – Seven people were injured when a passenger jeepney fell into a ravine in Barangay Bancal, Carmona, Cavite Wednesday.
Four of the injured – Joseph Pacheco, Michelle Cardena, Erwin Espiritu and Rochelle de la Paz – were brought to Pagamutang Bayan ng Carmona for treatment while Lejoe Selano, Afredo Bernas and jeepney driver Jerico Roxas were rushed to the Philippine General Hospital in Manila.
Senior Police Officer 1 Jaime Arquillo said the passengers were immediately discharged from the hospitals as their injuries were minor.
The victims, who were on their way to Cavite from Manila, said Roxas lost control of the wheel.
Arquillo said charges of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple physical injuries would be filed against Roxas.
