Teachers in barangay polls to get P2,500

MANILA, Philippines - Teachers who will serve as members of the Board of Election Tellers (BET) in the barangay polls stand to get P2,000 honorarium and P500 transportation allowance each, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said yesterday.

In Resolution No. 9751, the Comelec said the compensation shall come from the local government units where they will serve.  

Aside from this, those who will also handle the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) polls shall also receive an additional P500 each.

The Comelec said Department of Education personnel who will serve as supervising official and support staff of the BET shall receive P1,000 and P500, respectively.
