9 hurt as concrete wall collapses on Laguna houses

SAN PEDRO, Laguna, Philippines   â€“ Nine people, including a nine-month-old baby, sustained injuries when a concrete wall collapsed on their dwellings in Barangay San Antonio here last Saturday afternoon, authorities said.

Vicente Tomazar, director of the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, said those injured were rushed to the Amante Hospital but were all subsequently discharged.

Tomazar said continuous heavy rains caused the concrete wall – nine feet tall and 53 feet long – to collapse.

Those injured were identified as construction worker Jomar Claro Martinez, 26; Jomarel Claro Domingo, 4; Jarel Claro Domingo, nine months; Rosario Condez Hidoquio, 84; Tuesday Redrico, 31; Jimmy Roxas Calagos, 32; Ryan Dealbina, 15; Gemma Roxas, 19; and Jenny Roxas Dealbina, 3.
