Illegal structures in Hundred Islands dismantled

ALAMINOS CITY,Pangasinan, Philippines – The city government has started dismantling structures built on some areas of the Hundred Islands National Park as part of its rehabilitation efforts to make the park more attractive to tourists.

Mayor Arthur Celeste said the cleanup activity, particularly on the Quezon Island, is currently on its second week.

Celeste, who inspected the area yesterday along with Gov. Amado Espino Jr., expressed confidence that the provincial government will support this endeavor.

He said the Hundred Island is a pride not only of Alaminos or Pangasinan but of the entire country, as he bared plans to make the park more appealing to tourists.

For his part, Espino said the park is known for its natural beauty as he expressed assurance to help in the restoration efforts.
