P2M offered for capture of CDO bombers

Dennis Carcamo - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philppines - The Cagayan de Oro City government on Friday offered a P2-million reward money for information which could lead to the arrest of the suspects in the deadly bistro bombing last July 26, which killed eight and injured more than 40 people.

Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno said the reward money will be funneled from the local goverment's intelligence fund.

Moreno said authorities are already looking into possible leads for the identification and arrest of the suspect.

He, however, declined to elaborate on the details of the ongoing investigation by the local police.

Meanwhile, police investigators believed that the move by the city government in offering the cash reward would facilitate the probe and immediate arrest of the suspect.

On the night of July 26, an explosion rocked the crowded Rosario Arcade at the Limketkai Center. Most of those who died and wounded during the blast were physicians attending a seminar.

Police said the blast was caused by an improvised explosive device which was detonated with a cellular phone.
