Ric Sapnu, - The Philippine Star

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines – Two police officers who helped a woman deliver her baby in a passenger bus were commended in yesterday’s flag-raising ceremony here.

Inspectors Mavidette Ongjunco and Arnel Cera, both undergoing on-the-job-training at the Camiling police station, were awarded the “Medalya ng Papuri” for helping Mary Rose Palisoc.

The bus was at the vicinity of Sta. Ignacia town in Tarlac when Palisoc felt labor pains and gave birth to a baby boy last Friday.

Chief Superintendent Edgardo Ladao, Police Regional Office 3 director, said the two police officers deserved the awards for responding to the call of duty.
