ZAMBOANGA City, Philippines - A local disbursing officer was seriously wounded while her husband was killed in a gun attack late Thursday afternoon in the town of Zamboanga del Norte, according to a police official.
Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca, spokesman of Police Regional Office 9 (PRO), identified the slain victim as Felix Fullon. His wife, Ageas, a disbursing officer of Tampilisan town, was seriously wounded.
Huesca said that the couple was on their way home on board a motorcycle when they were ambushed by two gunmen in Barangay Farmington at about 5:30 p.m.
Both victims sustained gunshot wounds on the different parts of their bodies as the suspects fled to unknown direction.
Mayor Angeles Carloto II, who rushed to the crime scene, immediately brought the victims to the nearby Titay Sibud Hospital in the adjacent town of Titay.
