3.8 quake rocks parts of Caraga
MANILA, Philippines - A magnitude 3.8 earthquake shook parts of the Caraga region before dawn yesterday but there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries, state seismologists said.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the tremor struck at 4:02 a.m. with its epicenter traced at 13 kilometers northwest of San Francisco (Anao-aon) town in Surigao del Norte.
It was felt at Intensity 4 in Surigao City and San Francisco; and Intensity 3 in Malimono, Surigao del Norte.
Meanwhile, the agency also recorded yesterday quakes of magnitudes 2.2, 3.9, and 3.8 in Calayan, Cagayan; Catubig, Northern Samar; and Sabtang, Batanes, respectively. But the tremors were “unfelt,†Phivolcs said.
