MANILA, Philippines - Metro Manila may be hit by heavy rains and strong winds as President Benigno Aquino III delivers his fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday afternoon.
In a thunderstorm advisory issued at 3:30 p.m., weather bureau PAGASA said that thunderstorm is affecting portions of Metro Manila and nearby provinces including Cavite, Rizal, Laguna, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Zambales, Bataan and Nueva Ecija.
The weather bureau said that the thunderstorm will continue to affect the said areas "within two hours."
"All are advised to take precautionary measures against heavy rains, strong winds, lightning and possible flashfloods," PAGASA said in the advisory.
President Aquino will deliver his fourth SONA before members of Congress at the Batasan Pambansa complex in Quezon City.
Hundreds of protesters have converged in front of the Ever Gotesco mall along Commonwealth Avenue.
