Romblon island town reports dengue outbreak

Mayen Jaymalin - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Local health authorities yesterday reported a dengue outbreak in Romblon.

Dr. Cristina Tabucan, municipal health officer of Concepcion, a sixth-class island municipality in Romblon, said dengue cases have been on the rise in the town since June.

“Since June 13, we have recorded 17 confirmed dengue cases in our municipality and all of them are young children. Ten of these children are now confined in various hospitals in Pinamalayan, Oriental Mindoro because we don’t have a hospital on our island,” Tabucan said.
