Airphil cancels flights due to 'Isang'

MANILA, Philippines - Airphil Express cancelled two flights on Wednesday due to tropical depression "Isang."

The airline cancelled flight 2P 084 bound from Manila to Basco, Batanes and its turn-around flight 2P 085 due to the storm.

The Basco bound flight was supposed to leave the Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 6:30 a.m. while the turn-around flight was supposed to arrive in Manila at 9:50 a.m.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration has hoisted public storm warning signal number one over areas in the extreme Northern Luzon, including Batanes.

Isang made landfall in two areas in Isabela and Cagayan provinces on Wednesday morning and was expected to make another landfall in Batanes before it exits the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Thursday morning.
