Train runs over man in Pasay City
MANILA, Philippines - A 37-year-old construction worker was killed after he was hit by a train while sleeping on the railroad tracks on Pasay Road near the South Superhighway in Makati City Tuesday morning.
Makati Police chief Manuel Lukban said Rolando Diaz, of 7657 Dela Rosa St., Barangay Pio del Pilar, Makati, died on the spot after being hit by the train operated by Norman Cuachin, 26, of Taguig City.
Initial information reaching the Makati Traffic Investigation said Diaz was sleeping on the tracks when the train approached at about 7:45 a.m.
Police said a male passerby tried, but failed to wake up Diaz as the train approached the Pasay Road Philippine National Railways station.
Cuachin was brought to the Makati City Police Station for investigation.
