Man runs amuck, kills 4 in S. Leyte

TACLOBAN CITY, Philippines – At least four people were killed while eight others were wounded when a drunk construction worker went on a stabbing rampage in Padre Burgos town, Southern Leyte Saturday night.

Police identified the fatalitaies as Maria Feliselda, 56; Princess Jabonero, 23; Roger Fajardo Salim, 39, and Leslie Ann Caindoy, 2.

Wounded in the attack were Zenaida Aguelo, 62; Maximo Talero, 56; Genara Chu, 47; Aiza Caindoy, 24; Georgia Jabonero, 15; Joy Joy Sinselia, 18; Love Joy Acabu, 21, and April Rose Salim, 13. They were rushed to the provincial hospital in Maasin City for treatment.

Senior Police Officer 1 Reynaldo Aguelo of the Southern Leyte Police Office said Mark Jonnie Telen, was arrested by the police with the help of the residents of Barangay Cantutang at around 7 p.m.

Meanwhile, in Tigbauan, Iloilo, police arrested Rene Labordo, 31, a carpenter of Barangay Namocon after he allegedly stabbed dead his brother Roberto, whom he suspected of having an affair with his wife last Saturday.
