ZAMBOANGA CITY - An employee of the Basilan provincial government was killed while his wife was seriously wounded in an ambush in Isabela City, Basilan on Monday morning.
Police identified the fatality as Omar Hadjatul while his wounded wife was Ambra, both employees of the accounting branch of Basilan's provincial capitol.
Investigations showed that the victims were on their way to the provincial capital and on board their motorcycle when they were ambushed by a lone gunman in Barangay Riverside at around 8:15 a.m.
Omar died from three gunshot wounds while his wife sustained a single bullet wound in the back portion of her body.
Police have yet to determine the motive behind attack on the couple.
